We cater our lessons to all skill levels. If you're a surfer or paddler looking to expand your skillset, we can introduce a mix of flat water and swell practice. If you're a beginner without a lot of ocean time, we can learn in a sheltered waterway.
Safety is always our #1 priority, so we may need to propose / schedule alternate times if Mother Nature has other plans.
Remember, like any boardsport, confidence counts; if you can visualize yourself doing it, you can do it!

A note from Mike
I founded Above Board Watersports to share my passion for ocean watersports with other passionate ocean enthusiasts. Hydrofoil riding is one of the few activities that surpasses the hype - once you try it, you'll be hooked. The sensation of flying over water is like nothing else.

We operate primarily out of Dana Point, CA and Newport Beach, CA, but other locations may be utilized upon review.

As an experienced foiler, surfer, stand up paddler, and mariner, I'll guide you on your new efoil journey with an emphasis on fun and safety.
